Oh, How Does Your Garden Grow?

We have been having a great season with our garden this year!I am so excited to get enough tomatoes to bottle salsa, whole tomatoes and chile sauce. YUMMY! I have already pickled all our beets. Here is a picture from last years salsa.

The only problem we have had this year has been with squash beetles. They have destroyed all my beautiful pumpkins.I was looking forward to fresh pumpkin pies. STUPID BEETLES!

So here are some pictures of the survivors of our garden. Tomatoes,Potatoes, Swiss Chard, Basil, Zuchinni(barely hanging on)(dang beetles),Cucumbers, Raspberries, Cantalope, Honeydew, and Sunflowers.

Mike, showing off the sunflowers.

Shelby, loves the corn and her new haircut.

Tomatoes, Tomatoes, Tomatoes!!!

Shelby, making mud pies in the garnden. YUM!

Way to go on your garden! This was my first year attempt at a garden and I've had so many peas! Love the sugar snap peas... I have tomatoes growing as I type and zucchini. I think my pumpkins will produce as well. I'm kinda proud of the accomplishment... seeing as how last year I couldn't keep one tomato plant alive. I guess you have to water them! :) Thanks for your comment on my blog. Zac does look a ton like me. We NEED to get together!!!

Yay!!

Chad's parents have sunflowers just like yours! They are HUGE!

You go canner girl! I need to get you that veggie recipe still huh?

Oh please forgive me for my crazy forgetfulness!

Are you doing peaches this year? That's the only thing I want to bottle, so if you go north to buy some let me know...

Love ya Mellie!

Great garden! I SO enjoy seeing what other people plant in their gardens and enjoy seeing garden layouts and hearing what things do and don't work.

I am SO sorry to hear about your beetle that hurt your squash crop!! That is one of my favorite things in our garden!! I wish we lived closer and I could give you one of ours. We are going to have a lot in our garden if they all grow.

We got a late start in planting our garden but we picked a row of potatoes last night and thinned out our beets and carrots and we have 5 zucchinis and so that is what we are having for dinner tonight!!

I am sure enjoying getting to know you through Blogging.

Have a wonderful FUN-filled day!!

so those stupid beetles have moved on to my pumpkins! Everyday I go and look for eggs and scrape them off. My father in law said he's coming over to spray, but that was a week ago. Oh well, I'll know what to do for next year..

Nice garden! I drive over to my parents house in Erda and pick all of my vegetables there. If I see any type of beetle I freak out and my dad picks them for me! I'm a little scared of those beetles!
